Tobermory 12 Year Old Whisky is an interesting label, which is produced on the island of Mull in the Hebrides archipelago. Contrary to many Whiskies from these islands on the west coast of Scotland, this is a distillate made without the use of peat during the preparatory stage of malting the barley. The Whisky therefore does not have the characteristic smoky notes, which sometimes weigh down the aromatic profile a little, while retaining the saline and marine character typical of the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, breaking on the cliffs of Mull. Tobermory's 12 Year Whisky comes from a distillery with a long history behind it. Founded in 1798, it has changed many owners during its lifetime and is still the only distillery on the Isle of Mull. Always famous for its great single malts, it has its flagship 12-year-old version, which best interprets and illustrates the Tobermory style. It is made from an excellent quality non-peat barley malt. Distillation takes place in traditional copper stills, according to the oldest local customs. The whisky matures in oak barrels previously used for the ageing of Bourbon and the fragrant liqueur wines of Jerez de la Frontera, which give the distillate a pleasant expressive smoothness and rich aromatic complexity. Before bottling, it is lowered in degree with the purest and lightest water from springs on the island.

Tobermory 12 Anni is a whisky of great purity, enhanced by the decision to avoid cold filtering, so as to preserve the absolute integrity of its vibrant fragrances. To the eye it has a luminous amber colour, with precious golden reflections. The aromatic picture is elegant, with aromas reminiscent of ripe white-fleshed fruit, pear, golden apple, citrus peel, bitter orange, floral nuances, the softness of malt, caramel and acacia honey, hints of vanilla, dried fruit, noble woods and typically marine iodine memories. The palate is harmonious, with a satisfying fruitiness, enhanced by intense tertiary aromas, leading to a long and persistent finish.
