Riesling Dry Josef Milz 2020

Josef Milz's Dry Riesling is a Mosel white wine with a fresh and delicately aromatic character. The link between the Milz family and winegrowing goes back as far as 1520, with the original winery being built next to the church in the centre of the small town of Trittenheim. In spite of several restorations over the centuries, the estate has retained its old style, flanked today by the most modern technology in the industry. As evidence of the strong connection between Riesling and the Trittenheim area, the oldest documents in the Mosel Valley in which this noble grape variety is mentioned refer to the town of Trittenheim.

Josef Milz Riesling Dry originates exclusively from Rhine Riesling grapes grown in very steep vineyards planted on rich slate blue and grey slate. After the harvest, a traditional white vinification of the grapes takes place through spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the same type of wine container where maturation takes place for a few months. This is followed by bottling and a further short rest in glass before release.

On visual inspection, the Riesling Dry from Weingut Josef Milz displays a brilliant straw-yellow hue with slight greenish highlights. The nose offers pleasant hints of yellow peach, pear, apricot and jasmine that meet with sweet reminders of beeswax. Fresh, light and vibrant taste development, characterised by a delicate mineral finish. By virtue of its gracefulness and gracefulness, this Riesling Dry should be served with dishes that are not overly structured, such as delicately flavoured first and second courses of fish, vegetable dishes or assorted appetisers.
