The Falanghina Campi Flegrei from the Campania winery Agnanum is a fresh, fragrant and fruity white wine that originates in the first hinterland of the Neapolitan coast, between Pozzuoli and Bagnoli, just opposite the promontory of Capo Miseno. A land of ancient traditions, it has always expressed excellent whites. In particular, Falanghina has found on volcanic soils a perfect habitat to give elegant, intense and mineral wines of great territorial typicality. The floral scents, citrus, herbs and fragrant fruit captivate from the first sip.
Falanghina Campi Flegrei wine is the fruit of the passionate work of a small family business. The Agnanum winery cultivates 4 hectares on the volcanic hills of the Astroni Natural Park. The steep slopes have forced the vineyards to be structured on narrow terraces, which allow only manual work. The vineyards preserve a heritage of old vines of inestimable value. On the dark sandy soils and mild climate of the Tyrrhenian coast, Falanghina produces grapes with particularly rich aromatic kits. It is a small, artisanal production that gives the wine great territorial typicality. The few thousand bottles of Falanghina immediately go down a storm among enthusiasts in search of authentic wines capable of expressing the true character of the place of production in a direct and recognizable way.
Agnanum's white Falanghina Campi Flegrei is made from grapes grown on loose, mineral-rich soils consisting of sands of ancient volcanic origin. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are softly pressed, and the flower must is fermented in steel vats. Before bottling, the wine matures for several months in steel. The colour is deep straw yellow with brilliant hues. The olfactory profile is complex, with aromas of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean maquis, nuances of orange blossom and white flowers, and aromas of citrus and white-fleshed fruit. The sip is taut and vertical, with a rich profile preceding a finish of great freshness, characterized by a crisp sapid and mineral vein. We often talk about terroir wine: Agnanum's Falanghina is an excellent example.
