Champagne Brut Reserve Louis Huot

Louis Huot's Reserve Champagne is a truly convincing Brut that is expressive of the house's unmistakable style, capable of combining elegance, complexity and a ratio between quality and price that surprises. It was born a few kilometres from Epernay, a border area between the Marne Valley and the Montagne de Reims, from the passion of the Huot family, Recoltants Manipultants, for four generations now. The winery currently owns 7 hectares planted with guyot and cordon de royate with great respect for the environment and minimal use of systemic treatments in the vineyard.

The result of this Brut from Huot is truly excellent: this Reserve is put on the market after at least 5 years of ageing on the lees and best expresses the complexity and minerality typical of a Champagne of great value. The result of a skilful blending of equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, it owes part of its recognizable elegance and stylistic continuity to the addition in the final cuvée of a 50% reserve wine, carefully and patiently kept in the cellars of the maison. The sugar dosage of only 5 grams per litre after disgorgement makes this bottle of Huot even more elegant and balanced, confirming a perfect and authentic interpretation of the Brut type.

The quality of Huot's production is not in question; what surprises us is the relationship between quality and price, which is truly excellent for a Reserve of such complexity and balance. With the ageing of at least 60 months on the lees, it offers evolved and fragrant hints of yeast and wild fruits with a pleasant mineral finish that entices continued drinking.
