Champagne Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru 'L'Avizoise' Agrapart 2014

Founded in 1894 by Arthur Agrapart, this extraordinary estate in Avize acquired most of its vineyards during the 1950s and 1960s, thanks to Pierre, Arthur's nephew. Since 1984 the winery has been managed by Pascal Agrapart and his brother Fabrice, who have brought the maison is truly important levels of quality, using natural viticulture and conveying in their Champagnes the expression of Avize's unique terroir. Pascal, while practising natural farming, has never been interested in obtaining biodynamic farmer labels, but he has always advocated the importance of tuning work rhythms to those of nature, and both his work in the vineyard and in the cellar follow this philosophy to the letter. The Champagne Blanc de Blancs "L'Avizoise" was first produced in 1995, from vines from 50-year-old vines in the vineyards of Les Robarts and La Voie d'Epernay, located north of the hill of Avize. This Champagne, as Pascal himself affirms, is one of the many manifestations of the terroir of Avize, the peculiarities of its vineyards and the grapes from which it is made; it is a truly unique Champagne, endowed with an extraordinary balance and minerality, a symbol of a maison and a territory that know how to give wines an incredible and unique personality.
